Our expectations:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Finance & PMO, the Business Project Manager’s mandate is to deliver the various projects for which he or she is responsible. The Project Manager must determine the best strategy, making full use of the resources allocated for the duration of the projects.
Your role:
- Determine the project strategy: content, scope, resources, time frame, costs, risks, level of quality, communications and training;
- Assist in budget assessment;
- Take responsibility for planning and monitoring the cost of assigned projects;
- Use methodologies and standards approved by the project department;
- Help plan and assign resources, in cooperation with the program director and unit heads;
- Take responsibility for project delivery and quality;
- Monitor project execution;
- Handle change requests in ongoing projects;
- Prepare and present progress reports to the project committee and management committee;
- Coordinate tasks and serve as the interface among the various stakeholders;
- Ascertain that post-implementation results are satisfactory for the client and the unit head before handover into operational mode;
- Hand the application, if applicable, over to the IT unit head, customer service and users, including all necessary documentation;
- Provide unit heads with performance evaluation reports for the resources assigned to the project.
The qualifications we are looking for:
- University degree in business, information technology or the equivalent;
- Project Management Certification (strong asset);
- 10 years’ experience in project management, including 5 years as a designated project manager and 3 years managing cross functional projects;
- Experience in retail trade and distribution;
- Experience with a recognized methodology;
- A track record as an excellent communicator;
- Ability to make presentations to senior management;
- Several years’ experience in HR management on matrix-based projects;
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
