About the Role:
We are seeking aSenior Director, Employer Services, who will play a pivotal role in shaping the way employers interact with and experience our pension plan.
This person will be strategic and a service-oriented leader that will set and execute the long-term strategic direction for employer service delivery, oversee complex change management, and ensure our growing employer base receives consistently exceptional support. You will lead high-impact initiatives, inspire a high-performing team, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver solutions that support our plan's expansion and long-term success.
As the Newest Member of our Team, You'll:
- Lead the strategic direction of Employer Services---develop and implement a multi-year strategy that aligns with the organization's national growth objectives, enhancing operational efficiency, employer satisfaction, and digital innovation.
- Oversee the design and delivery of pension administration services, ensuring employers receive timely, accurate, and high-quality service in accordance with plan rules, collective agreements, and applicable legislation.
- Champion the employer experience by proactively identifying emerging needs, building trusted relationships with key employer stakeholders, and translating feedback into scalable service enhancements.
- Drive national service readiness, leading the expansion of service capabilities, resource planning, and operational alignment to support organizational growth across new jurisdictions and sectors.
- Manage and mentor a high-performing team, providing clear direction, setting expectations, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You'll coach managers and team leads to strengthen leadership capability and build succession.
- Lead transformational change, including the implementation of new tools, technology platforms, and digital solutions that modernize employer-facing processes and optimize data reporting, reconciliation, and integrity.
- Oversee compliance and risk management, ensuring all services are delivered in accordance with provincial and federal pension regulations, plan text, and internal policies, while developing safeguards and protocols for data quality and process accuracy.
- Leverage data to inform decision-making, identifying service trends, root causes, and areas for optimization. You'll lead performance monitoring using KPIs and use insights to improve service delivery and inform strategic planning.
- Serve as a senior advisor and collaborator, actively participating in cross-functional committees and enterprise-wide projects, ensuring Employer Services plays an integral role in organization-wide transformation initiatives.
- Resolve complex or escalated issues with professionalism and influence, using strong negotiation and communication skills to reach solutions that serve both employer and organizational goals.
- Collaborate with IT, HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure seamless integration of employer-facing technologies and effective vendor management (e.g., pension payment service providers).
- Lead and contribute to strategic projects, managing timelines, resources, risks, and communications to deliver value-added outcomes for employers and the organization.
- Foster a service culture rooted in empathy, proactivity, and professionalism, ensuring every interaction with Employer Services builds trust and reinforces our commitment to delivering long-term value to participating employers.
To Succeed, You Bring:
- A post-secondary degree in business, finance, actuarial sciences, or a related field, with a professional pension designation (e.g., CEBS, PPAC) or equivalent experience.
- 10 years of experience in a multi-employer pension plan (MEPP), public sector pension environment, or administration service provider, with 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Expertise in pension administration, plan design interpretation, and compliance within provincial and federal regulatory environments.
- A track record of success leading transformational initiatives, especially involving employer experience, data modernization, and technology integration.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and influence across all levels of an organization, including senior executives and external partners.
- A client-first mindset with outstanding judgment, emotional intelligence, and communication skills to navigate sensitive and complex matters.
- Strength in change leadership, performance management, and driving operational improvements through a continuous learning lens.
- Strong knowledge of digital tools and data systems, along with experience in annual data collection, contribution reconciliation, and real-time reporting processes.
- A passion for strategic planning, problem-solving, and creating scalable service delivery models in a growing, fast-paced environment.
