Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Project Manager to work on rotation on a remote site for the duration of one of our biggest projects in Canada. This role is critical in ensuring the successful planning, execution, and delivery of this project while maintaining strict safety standards and budget control.
This position requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work in high-pressure environments while managing multiple stakeholders and team members.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning \& Scheduling
- Review and analyze bid packages to understand project scope and requirements.
- Schedule and assign technicians, ensuring that the project team is prepared and equipped for execution.
- Lead pre-job,project kick-off, and daily standup meetings to ensure all stakeholders are aligned.
- Identify and order necessary equipment for project execution.
Supplier \& Subcontractor Management
- Identify and vet suppliers and subcontractors to meet project requirements.
- Confirm subcontractors are pre-qualified and their pricing aligns with the project budget.
- Manage the timely delivery of materials and subcontractor services.
Site Safety \& Compliance
- Serve as the owner's safety representative on-site, working closely with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) teams to ensure all safety protocols are strictly followed.
Quality Assurance \& Control (QA/QC)
- Monitor and inspect work throughout the project to ensure quality standards are met.
Budgeting \& Financial Management
- Define project phases and establish a clear budget process, including changes and adjustments.
- Conduct project forecasting, comparing actual costs against estimates and contractual obligations.
- Oversee invoice coordination to ensure billing aligns with project progress.
Job Site Management
- Manage site supervisors, ensuring they complete all duties and maintain proper communication.
- Facilitate effective communication between the job site and the head office, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Client \& Stakeholder Management
- Maintain regular communication with clients and stakeholders, providing project updates and ensuring expectations are met.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in remote construction, mining, rope access, and/or geotechnical projects
- Proven experience managing projects on remote job sites.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build effective teams and maintain professional relationships.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage a complex dynamic project.
- Safety-focused, with a deep understanding of site safety regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of managing both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to changing project demands.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Office suite including but not limited to Excel, Word, and Project
- Authorized to work in Canada.
- Nice to Have
- P.Eng, B.Eng, or CET
- PMP or Prince 2 Certification
Work Environment
- Work on site for the duration of the project on a 2 week rotation. We provide all travel arrangements and cover all travel costs.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 5 months
Pay: $55.00 -- $65.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 per day, 2-week rotation
