Purpose
Following production procedures, you will manufacture and package specialty chemical products. Due to the physically demanding requirements while working with hazardous chemicals, this position requires an individual who is extremely safety conscientious, has the ability to lift 50lbs continuously throughout the day, possesses strong attention to detail, above average math and reading comprehension skills and the ability to follow strict instructions.
What you will do
- Control and monitor equipment within the scope of authority
- Measuring, mixing and adding chemicals
- Follow weekly plant cleanliness procedures
- Nightly plant inspections
- Yearly inventory counts
- Cleaning and preparing equipment, and minor maintenance work
- Fill out log sheets and record data
- Perform all required pre-fill and post-fill inspections for totes
- Maintain a neat, clean and orderly work area
- Perform mathematical calculations related to filling capacities as required
- Complete all Guardian Chemicals training including WHMIS and TDG, QEHS and Operational training
- Filling totes, pails and drums following procedures that meet safety, and quality requirements
- Duties as assigned by the Plant Manager
- Performing duties safely and thoroughly
- Follow production procedures, manufacturing of all chemicals
- Assist in proper operation of equipment
- Troubleshooting as required
- Assist in requisition of supplies and raw materials
- Ensure proper identification/labeling of on-site materials
- Push, pull, or maneuver drums of up to 500 pounds
- Ability to spend long periods of time walking and standing
- Requirement to wear respiratory equipment while working with certain chemicals
- Personal Safety and responsibility to watch out for the safety of colleagues is a job requirement

What you will bring
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must always place safety first, at all times
- Forklift Training/Experience preferred but not mandatory
- Must have the ability to perform basic math functions
- Basic understanding of chemistry
- Must possess excellent customer service skills, verbal and written communication skills, and computer knowledge
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with a minimum of supervision, is highly motivated, energetic, and enjoys working as part of a team
