The Restaurant at Redstone opened in June of 2015. The 80-seat restaurant, private dining room and spacious outdoor patio space showcases the seasonally and locally inspired cuisine of Chef David Sider. Position Summary
The Restaurant at Redstone is recruiting for a Sous Chef who will be responsible for assisting in the planning, organizing, and executing of all culinary efforts while maintaining a leadership role. The ideal candidate must have a flexible work schedule, including the ability to work evenings and weekends.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for daily kitchen operations, both through preparatory periods and service
- Ensure food quality is at the highest standard set out by the Executive Chef
- Assist with ordering food, maintaining inventory, and daily reporting
- Provide ongoing instruction and mentorship to team members
- Work alongside the Executive Chef to design recipes, create dishes, and food and wine pairings
Position Requirements
- Minimum 5 years working in a professional kitchen, supervisory experience an asset
- Inventory and data management experience
- Open to learning, coaching and career growth
- Diploma in Culinary Management and/or Chef Accreditation is preferred
- A strong foundation in communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
