Job Summary:
The Production Planning and Materials Manager is responsible for all order preparations, communication, and shipments as they would relate to the production and validation operations and as further outlined below. This position works closely with the Program Managers and the Molding \& Validation Management Team. They ensure efficient operations with adequate resources to fulfill customer demands and plant requirements. This individual will comply with provincial and federal legislation, company and health \& safety policies and ISO quality program and procedures.
Education and Experience:
- Completion of a college diploma or university degree is required
- Previous work experience in supply chain and logistics is required
- Certificate in supply chain and logistics is preferred
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in computers with the ability to use various computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Visual, Sisense and EDI.
- The ability to navigate customer portal functions and communicate directly with customers as required
- Knowledge and experience with problem solving methodologies (e.g. 8D, Red-X, Kaizen, Six Sigma)
- Experience with IATF 16949 and ISO/QS/TS Quality Systems is preferred
- Availability to travel to domestic and international customers locations to conduct APQP reviews, quality audits, risk mitigation and product demonstration runs, etc.
- Ability to analyze incomplete information and implement timely decision making while mitigating risk factors
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Capable of forecasting, scheduling, planning, and solving problems
- Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Willingness to lead, take charge and offer opinions and direction
- Ability to adapt and welcome change in a positive manner
