Heartland Test Centre -- Kitchener is a part of Heartland International English School Ontario Inc. -- a private ESL school and a licensed test centre for the IELTS and CELPIP English proficiency tests. Its head office is in Mississauga with test venues throughout the GTA and Kitchener.
Job Description:
The Test Venue Administrator oversees the test venue and all aspects of IELTS/ CELPIP test delivery at the test centre, on behalf of the Test Centre Manager.
The Test Venue Administrator is responsible for the smooth administration of IELTS/ CELPIP tests on test day, coordinating all test day activities, including but not limited to:
- Maintaining the security of the test venue, ensuring only authorized test day staff and registered test takers are allowed
- Monitoring test progress and ensuring test delivery policies are followed
- Monitoring all test day personnel to ensure tasks are being carried out correctly in adherence to the test partners' policies and procedures
- Preparing test materials, computers, equipment and testing space
- Handling test day issues or escalations from test takers
- Maintaining accurate records of test materials and other confidential documents
- Ensuring the secure storage and destruction of test materials in accordance with Test Partner policies and procedures
- Assisting Test Centre Manager with additional tasks as required
Job Details:
Position type: Permanent Full-time
Work schedule: Wednesday to Sunday (up to 40 hrs per week)
Shift duration: Typically 8:30am to 5:30 pm
Rate of Pay: $22 per hour
Work location: 72 Victoria St. S, Kitchener ON N2G 4Y9 (Note: Training at the Head Office in Mississauga)
Start date: 10 May 2025
Essential attributes and competencies:
- Sound knowledge of IELTS and CELPIP test day procedures and roles (highly preferred)
- Strong customer service orientation
- Exceptional oral communicator in face-to-face and telephone interactions
- Strong writing skills, including up-to-date knowledge of business writing conventions
- Thrives in a collaborative environment and also capable of self-direction
- Highly effective at planning, organizing, and managing processes and people
- Accuracy-oriented and highly attentive to detail
- Strong computer literacy skills and proven ability to adapt to new applications and processes
Qualifications:
- Experience working in a high stakes testing environment (preferred)
- Experience working in a supervisory role (preferred)
- Legal status to work in Canada
- Valid Police Criminal Reference Check (acquired within the past six months)
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent related professional experience)
- Minimum 2 years' work experience in a process-oriented field (e.g., logistics, event management, educational administration)
- Must be physically able to lift up to 30 lbs and move around light furniture/ equipment
