Reporting to the Manager, Retail Credit Products, the Analyst, Retail Credit Products contributes to the development, implementation and maintenance of departmental initiatives and strategies that contribute to portfolio growth, profitability and customer and employee engagement objectives, with a specific focus on Alterna's retail credit product suite.
Through research and analysis and a strong ability to work with data to generate meaningful insights, the Analyst, Retail Credit Products will support the performance of the retail credit product and service portfolio.
Major Responsibilities
- Analyze retail credit industry trends, competitive reviews and customer needs leveraging internal and external sources.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations from analysis to drive growth across the retail credit product portfolio.
- Support the Manager, Retail Credit products with corporate project related deliverables and ad-hoc data analysis.
- Support the Manager, Retail Credit products with the planning, development, and execution of retail credit product departmental initiatives (ex. credit service fee reviews, product acquisition/cross-sell campaigns, credit document agreement updates and maintenance, profitability reporting)
- Work with cross-functional teams as necessary (i.e. Technology, Marketing, Service and Sales, Legal and Compliance, Credit Risk etc.) to assist in implementing recommendations that improve product financial performance and depth of relationship.

Qualifications
Education / Certifications / Experience
- Post-secondary education: University/College degree in business, commerce or a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-year experience in a similar analytics-based role in financial services
- 2-year experience in a financial services role, ideally in the retail lending space
Knowledge / Skills
- Strong knowledge of financial products and services.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) skills; strong presentation skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to easily learn other programs.
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools, data mining and reporting considered an asset.
