Job Description
We are currently hiring for a Technician 1 for a temporary placement of 9 months at our Ottawa office. As part of our Manufacturing and Operations team, this role is fully on-site and 40 hours a week. You will be apart of team that's works closely together on achieving department goals. This workforce encompasses Production Controllers, Master Schedulers, Shipping \& Receiving Specialists, Assemblers, Technologists, Repair \& Overhaul experts, and Product \& Mechanical Engineers. For electronic \& electro-mechanical product \& equipment of simple complexity, perform testing utilizing:
-
automated computer based test stations,
-
semi-automated test set-ups, and/or
-
manual test set-ups
-
Ability to interpret \& operate universal test equipment, such as;
-
Oscilloscopes,
-
Digital multimeters, power supplies, etc.
-
Environmental chambers,
-
Vibration tables
-
Associated test equipment.
-
Troubleshoot from system to component level circuit s of simple complexity.
-
Comprehends \& utilizes schematic diagrams, drawings, parts lists, bills of materials, assembly instructions, quality tracking systems (including failure reports, quality charts, etc.), process routing sheets, acceptance test procedures and tests results.

Accountable for completion of work orders on time.

Completes assigned tasks within expected productivity outputs.

Communicate, prioritize and multitasks to achieve team goals.

Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
-
Requires a two year Community College Electronics Technician Diploma.

Up to and including three months of relevant work experience.
-
Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations.

Ability to enter, locate and retrieve data and/or documentation using company provided computers.

Work is scheduled, structured \& routine.

Expected to make decisions and exercise judgment with respect to testing and troubleshooting activities in compliance with acceptance test procedures, corresponding test results, technical data packages and workmanship standards.

Able to perform analysis, troubleshooting \& diagnostics on products and equipment of simple complexity from system to component level, while maintaining quality standards and defined productivity output.

Expected to manage minor irregularities. Would otherwise refer more complex irregularities to more senior team members or support staff.

Physical Effort

Continuous movement amongst workstation equipment to complete work. Repetitive hand/finder movement is required for continuous periods of time.

Continuous lifting of low weight items with limited lifting of items with considerable weight.

Moderate degree of visual concentration for periods of time required in testing or troubleshooting of software and hardware for all levels.

Some isolation while in production; limited exposure to chemicals, fumes, dust and noise; some repetition; moderation interruptions and occasional high volumes/multiple and tight deadlines.
