We're hiring an Office Administrative Assistant for a short-term contract in Ottawa, starting immediately. This is a great opportunity to support a small, fast-paced team in a growing organization expanding into the Ottawa area. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and ready to jump in right away.
Compensation:
$25 to $29/hour
Please note, this will be fully on-site role at our client's Ottawa Office
3 month contract with potential for an extension or to go permanent
Responsibilities:
- Provide front-desk support including answering and redirecting phone calls
- Greet scheduled visitors and assist with light coordination of meetings
- Manage calendar and light executive support for one team leader
- Handle incoming/outgoing mail and monitor shared email inbox
- Post occasional updates and respond to messages on LinkedIn
- Support general office organization and coordination tasks
- Work independently with daily check-ins and clear direction from leadership
- Contribute to a collaborative team culture through visible task-sharing
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in administrative, front desk, or office support roles
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable working with minimal supervision and adapting to changing priorities
- Professional, friendly, and articulate in person and over the phone
- Tech-savvy and familiar with basic office tools; social media experience is a plus
- Thrives in a startup-style environment with evolving processes and responsibilities
- Experience in hospitality, retail, or real estate environments is an asset
