JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Sr Director -- Loblaw/SDM PC and B\&W, this role involves creating, executing, and communicating the customer plan for Hair and Skin categories, including trade investment management. The goal is to achieve consistent, competitive, profitable, and sustainable growth. The Senior Key Account Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams such as Customer Operations, Strategy and Planning, Finance, Customer Service, Net Revenue Management, Category Management, and Customer Analytics to implement best practices and capitalize on opportunities to meet sales and profit targets.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maximize sales by applying effective sales and marketing strategies, negotiating trade promotions, and managing budgets efficiently to meet targets.
- Lead and participate in the development of the company's Annual Planning process for the Hair and Skin segments, including forecast ownership.
- Develop the shared Joint Business Plan with SDM Hair and Skin Category Director \& Marketing team.
- Manage customer relationships to ensure ongoing development and profitable growth for SDM.
- Utilize trade spending strategically to support Unilever's objectives within set parameters.
- Plan for product listings, retail pricing, distribution, shelf positioning, and inventory levels.
- Evaluate customer tactics and implement improvements based on performance analysis.
- Maintain excellent trade relations and support for brands through effective execution of brand strategies tailored to customer needs and market conditions.
- Manage and coach one direct report, the Account Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Passion for high performance and creative problem-solving.
- Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Advanced computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Proven leadership, strategic planning, financial management, and analytical skills, including experience with Nielsen, Customer, and Shopper data.
- Undergraduate Degree required.
- Valid driver's license.
- At least 3 years of progressive account development and trade/consumer marketing experience in mass merchandise, club, grocery, or drug trade.
- Must reside within a commutable distance to Toronto.
