Licensed Practical Nurse, Full Scope - (213365)

Under the supervision of the Manager or designate and as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Licensed Practical Nurse, Full Scope, performs assessments, plans and provides personal care, and executes nursing procedures. The nurse operates within the competency guidelines and full scope of practice as defined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives, adhering to agency policies, standards, and unit-specific protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training, and Experience
Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN.
- Perinatal roles require either (a) completion of a perinatal education program plus breastfeeding course, or (b) one year of recent (within the last 2 years) acute perinatal experience. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within the past 2 years is also required.
- MHSU roles require additional education as specified by BCCNM for practice involving Mental Health and/or Substance Use disorders.
Skills and Abilities
- Effective verbal and written communication with residents, families, co-workers, multidisciplinary team members, and the public.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Organizational skills to implement a care plan.
- Competence to work at full scope of practice, including medication administration, as per BC College of Nurses and Midwives standards.
- Proficiency in operating related equipment.
- Physical ability to perform duties of the position.
