Reports to the Nurse Manager, Department Head, or designate. Plans and provides direct nursing care to patients/residents in the hospital or community, following the unit/program philosophy, competency guidelines, policies, and the BC College of Nurses and Midwives Standards for Nursing Practice in British Columbia.
Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience
- Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
- Up to two (2) years recent, related experience, depending on the clinical setting.
Specialty unit nurse positions require area-specific specialty certification for the unit. Heart Health nurse positions require demonstrated ability in arrhythmia interpretation, evidenced by a score of 75% on the VIHA ECG Challenge exam.
