Our client, a boutique litigation law firm, nestled in Toronto's downtown core is currently looking to add an Insurance Defence Law Clerk to their roster.
The successful candidate will work in this much sought after 1:1 set up and will support the lawyer with:
- Managing files from beginning to end including all document management
- Drafting and preparing various legal documents including Statement of Defence, Pleadings, Affidavit of Documents, and Motion Materials
- Summarizing medical briefs
- Maintaining a bring forward system
- Liaising with clients, experts \& opposing counsel as required
- Docketing time
The ideal candidate will have:
- Law Clerk diploma or equivalent experience
- 3 years of insurance defense litigation experience with sound knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure
- Knowledge of LAT
- Proficiency in case management software and MS Office Applications
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Superior time management skills
- Experience with managing AB files is considered an asset
