Description
Position summary:
To complete vendor payments by verifying invoice coding, verifying transactions, and scheduling disbursements. To maintain good customer relations during account balance collections. Ensure policies and procedures for accounts payable and receivable workflow are adhered to. Facilitate AP responsibilities to ensure department deadlines are met. Additionally, responsibility for payroll and standard payroll practices.
Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices through company approval system
- Complete account coding and batching of approved invoices
- Data entry of invoices into Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains)
- Verification of pricing and sales taxes on invoices
- Maintain a listing of outstanding invoices
- Process and review cheques, matching with backup and preparing for signatures
- Research and respond in a timely manner to inquiries (internal and external)
- Regularly contact and follow up individuals with delinquent accounts
- Responds to customer inquiries, maintains good customer relations and solves problems
- Reconcile vendor and customer accounts when necessary
- Responsible for filing, archiving and retrieving all paid files and providing copies of all necessary invoices, as required by others and special projects (i.e. audits)
- Payroll and all standard practices that go with payroll i.e. ROEs, T4s, etc.
- Assisting accounting team as required
Qualifications

3-5 years of accounting experience in a professional environment

Post-secondary education in accounting and bookkeeping

Strong computer skills with MS Excel and Word as well as experience with the software Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) and Association Management System (iMIS) are assets.

This is an existing role (Maternity Leave Coverage) with a salary range of $55,000 - $60,000.
