We are searching for an exceptionally talented Manager, Architectural Design to join our growing team and help us deliver on our customer promise. This role will drive the creation of innovative design visions and briefs, informed by market research and buyer insights. Collaborating with internal teams and external partners, this position will lead architectural design development across Fusion Homes, designing all our residential homes from inception to delivery.
As Manager, Architectural Design , you are a visionary architectural leader with a keen eye for every detail of the home -- from stunning elevations to intentional floor plans. You thrive on shaping spaces that inspire and transform a community. In this position, you will be the creative force behind Guelph Innovation District, one of the largest master planned communities in Ontario, leading the design efforts and bringing our vision to life.
What You'll be Doing:
- Lead design efforts from project inception to completion - developing conceptual building designs, including elevations, floor plans, site plans, and renderings for proposals and marketing.
- Drive the creative and strategic direction of all architectural design projects.
- Conduct market research on buyer preferences, competitors, and design trends to inform new residential models across various project types.
- Collaborate with internal teams (land development, marketing, drafting, construction) and external stakeholders to deliver innovative design solutions within quality, timeline, and budget constraints.
- Perform site visits to ensure compliance with construction documents, identify deviations, and work with team members to resolve issues.
- Plan, track, and schedule project timelines and milestones, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Assist the Interior Design team with special projects (model homes, decor centers, home staging).
What You Bring to the Table:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience (experience within the new home building industry with a focus on low-rise residential will be considered a strong asset).
- Proficiency with Revit preferred.
- Knowledge of Residential Construction and the Ontario Building Code required.
- Degree in Architecture or other related program required.
- Ability to fit together artistic, functional and technical requirements.
- Fanatical attention to detail, ensuring every aspect of your designs are meticulous.
