Position Details
- Classification: Temporary Full-Time (until approx. Nov 2025)
Summary of Duties
- Apply principles of Occupational Health Nursing.
- Work in compliance with CNO standards.
- Provide primary nursing care, first aid, and emergency treatment.
- Conduct assessments, coordinate immunization programs, and provide health education.
- Manage medical monitoring, surveillance programs, and health reviews.
- Review medical documentation to approve or deny sick leave benefits.
- Liaise with Infection Prevention \& Control and manage outbreaks.
- Report outbreaks to TPH and WSIB as required.
- Follow up on incidents and exposures.
- Maintain statistical data and generate routine reports.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications and Skills
- Current Ontario Registration and BCLS Certificate.
- Completion of approved Occupational Health Nursing Certificate Course.
- Experience in a hospital environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Infection Prevention, Control, and OHS issues.
- Thorough knowledge of WSIB processes, occupational health legislation, and Human Rights Act.
- Advanced Nursing Assessment skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Parklane System.
- Excellent communication and investigation skills.
- Ability to self-manage workload.
- Teamwork, flexibility, professionalism, reliability, and good attendance.
