The MD Program trains the next generation of doctors by delivering a comprehensive learning experience to our students. In collaboration with the Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) and MedIT Departments, we are undergoing a transformation in Medical Education Information Technology to support a high-quality teaching and learning environment. This major project has a two-year implementation horizon and will result in an integrated Learner Management System for both the MD Program and PGME. As the Senior Analyst, MD Systems and Integration, you will be an important resource in planning the implementation of the new solution and advising on the creation of efficiencies for business processes. Further, you will be responsible for system testing, analyzing datasets and running queries to gather data and assessing and determining methodologies for data retrieval and manipulation. You will also be developing content for instructional workshops and training end-users on procedures. Your strong analytical, project management, and forward-thinking skills will be important assets to this role.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing new programs and initiatives independently, including developing project schedules, milestones, deliverable and reporting
- Coordinating tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholders.
- Advising on data structure designs; Writing complex specifications based on system requirements.
- Designing and optimizing databases; Analyzing datasets and running queries to gather data
- Creating complex and technical documentation and user support guides
- Advising on the creation of efficiencies for business processes and productivity; Planning the implementation of new business system processes.
- Advising on cost, feasibility, and impact of different implementation solutions
- Directing the activities of a single ongoing staff-appointed employee
Essential Qualifications:
- Master's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience, supporting large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects, preferably in a University or hospital setting.
- Demonstrated experience planning and overseeing evaluation frameworks related to projects.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing datasets and running queries.
- Strong experience designing and optimizing databases and writing complex specifications.
- Demonstrated experience providing advice on business process efficiencies.
- Proficiency with determining cost and feasibility of projects.
- Experience directing the activities of staff.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communications skills (oral and written) with an ability to multi-task and prioritize competing demands.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Extremely detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment and logical thinking
