Summary of Duties, but not limited to:

Act as a business partner with program areas to provide financial analysis, communicate risk areas and work with the program managers to identify risk mitigation

Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including key statistical indicators, prepare accruals and provide comments and or explanations of performance results

Assist program managers with preparing financial and statistical budgets including forecasts by gathering historical data, analyzing growth and preparing projections in collaboration with managers

Meet with budget owners regularly to remain appraised of business operations, conduct variance analysis and provide meaningful variance explanations to inform management decisions

Assist with the auditing process by providing supporting documentation and responding to questions from the auditors

Support external reporting to the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, including the submission of the Hospital and Community Accountability Planning Submission, and other reporting requirements

Collaborate with program managers in the preparation of business cases and the evaluation of changes to the operations of programs.

Prepare financial reports and provide material for presentations for senior management to aid in their decision making processes by gathering accurate information in a timely and efficient manner

Coordinate and\or provide back-up to support business units within the Finance department
-
Ensure that the accounting work performed in the individual business units adheres to WCH financial policies and procedures and ensure quality assurance and compliance to standards and legislative requirements
Qualifications

Professional Accounting Designation required (Chartered Professional Accountant)

Degree in Accounting or related field required, Masters in Business Administration or related field an asset

Minimum of five (5) years related financial experience

Strong computer working knowledge, particularly of MS Office applications and knowledge of SAP and EPIC would be an asset

Demonstrate creativity with strong analytical and problem solving skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills, coupled with excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail

Ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independently
