Overview
We are seeking a seasoned, visionary, and operationally-minded leader for the role of General Manager Theatre \& Venue Operations. This dual-role executive will be responsible for the overall leadership, strategy, and day-to-day operations of the venue's concert hall and associated programming. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of executive-level operational management and business acumen, along with a deep understanding of live entertainment and venue excellence.
This role pays an annual salary of $150,000-$160,000 CAD and is bonus eligible.

Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the Concert Hall within Hamilton Arena, ensuring a high-quality experience for guests, performers, and partners.
- Oversee venue operations department for the Hamilton Arena \& Concert Hall with direct responsibility for the Maintenance, Conversion, Housekeeping, Engineering, and Ice Operations departments.
- Develop and execute annual business plans, including event booking strategy, revenue generation, and budget management.
- Coordinate with internal teams including box office, guest services, production, operations, and venue services to ensure seamless coordination of events for all venues.
- Build and foster strong relationships with external stakeholders and community partners including union representatives.
- In conjunction with OVG's Senior Director of Booking, work with talent buyers, promoters, agents, and touring partners to secure and deliver successful concerts and special events.
- Drive customer service standards to ensure memorable experiences across all patron touchpoints.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, labor, and accessibility standards in accordance with local and federal regulations.
- Oversee capital improvements and infrastructure projects with a focus on innovation, sustainability, and guest comfort.
- Represent the concert hall as the primary liaison with City of Hamilton officials, OVG leadership, and corporate sponsors.
- Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performance team aligned with OVG's values and culture.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across all operations, staffing, and community engagement efforts.
Qualifications
- 10 years of progressive leadership experience in venue management, preferably in concert halls, arenas, or major entertainment venues.
- Proven ability to lead diverse operational teams while managing complex event and facility logistics.
- Strong financial acumen and experience in budget development, forecasting, and P\&L oversight.
- Excellent negotiation, partnership development, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Deep knowledge of concert and live event production, artist relations, and booking practices.
- Experience working in unionized environments is a strong asset.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, Arts Administration, or related field.
