Provides development opportunities for the District Sales Rep (DSR). Oversees and provides direction to enhance relationships and growth opportunities with customers. Reports, analyzes, and communicates data regarding the achievement of goals. Oversees and monitors training activities for direct reports and participates in Gordon Food Service and customer-related activities.

Essential Functions:
- Provides development opportunities and mentoring to DSRs and develops succession plans for the managed area. Collaborates with DSRs to identify goals, provide feedback, and assign responsibilities.
- Develops business plans for territory and customers. Assists with new account development, visits key customers, and resolves serious customer concerns. Collaborates with operations to meet customer service expectations.
- Works with Category Specialists and Customer Segment Leaders to support sales and marketing plans that meet customer needs.
- Reviews reports to drive sales, manage accounts receivable, develop staff, and identify issues. Submits periodic reports on progress and challenges.
- Conducts performance reviews, adjusts plans as needed, and ensures DSR skills meet requirements through training and coaching, including 'in the car' ride-along programs.
- Maintains visibility with key customers and participates in industry events, customer shows, and trips to headquarters. Organizes regional meetings and activities.
- Sets targets for DSRs, collaborates on goal setting aligned with regional and national objectives, and reviews results regularly.
- Prepares expense recommendations during the annual planning process and manages the market's AOP for non-commercial segments.
- Keeps updated on industry trends through magazines and culinary organizations. Demonstrates understanding of Foodservice Industry and operations.
- Focuses on customer aspects like sales building, staffing, profitability, and compliance.
- Recruits, trains, and retains sales staff. Conducts performance monitoring and disciplinary actions as needed. Mentors and motivates staff, acting as a role model.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
