Here's What You'll Get To Do
- Greet patients and families, and assist in meeting their needs when appropriate
- Coordinate unit administrative functions to ensure efficient operation of the unit, within scope of authority
- Provide clerical support for all healthcare staff
- Organize and maintain patient charts, as well as electronic and paper information filing
- Facilitate communication between patients/families and the POCU team where appropriate
- Perform other duties as assigned
Here's What You'll Need
- Diploma from a recognized Medical Administrative program is an asset
- Previous clerical experience in a hospital/medical environment is preferred
- Medical Terminology certificate is an asset
- Experience with patient registration systems is required (Epic experience is an asset)
- Basic proficiency with computers (i.e., MS Office Suite)
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organization skills
- Demonstrated problem solving
- Ability to be self-directed, flexible and to take initiative
- Attention to detail and efficient time management
- Strong customer service orientation
- A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity and inclusion
