Responsibilities
- Perform fire ground operations, rescue, fire inspection, and public education following department policies.
- Conduct rescue operations, including search, stabilization, and victim safety.
- Protect people and property from hazards, including hazardous materials.
- Operate fire apparatus safely and efficiently.
- Provide first aid and prepare patients for transport.
- Inspect equipment and participate in fire safety inspections.
- Perform station duties and public relations activities.
- Operate communication equipment and assist in developing pre-fire plans.
- Maintain records and comply with health and safety legislation.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Reside within the response area.
- Ability to work in a structured environment, respond to emergencies, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Valid Ontario Class "G" Driver's License with zero demerit points; ability to obtain Class "DZ" license.
- Successfully complete training and psychological assessments.
This position requires a valid Class "G" driver's license and proof thereof.
