Job Purpose and Overview
The Plant Manager will lead, develop, and implement strategies to manage and optimize resources (people, materials, equipment, money, and time) to produce food products that meet quality, volume, cost, and timing expectations, aligning with business results.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage industrial safety to ensure a safe environment and prevent accidents.
- Oversee security and protect Dawn's assets.
- Ensure environmental sustainability and compliance with regulations.
- Manage food safety, ensuring adherence to GMPs, HACCP, BRC standards, and Dawn Quality System.
- Maintain product quality and brand integrity.
- Prepare for and manage audits to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
- Ensure production schedules are met, managing costs and service levels.
- Oversee maintenance of equipment and facilities.
- Optimize inventory levels and warehouse operations.
- Participate in capital investments, ensuring proper decision-making and execution.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for safety, quality, output, and costs.
- Lead and coordinate teams, ensuring clear objectives and collaboration.
- Support team development and training in partnership with HR.
- Handle hiring, promotions, discipline, and compensation decisions.
- Collaborate with R\&D and Marketing on new product launches.
- Promote company philosophies and policies.
- Manage site KPIs, budgets, and projects.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree and/or Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
- At least 8 years of leadership in manufacturing, with decision-making experience.
- Experience with GMPs, BRC, HACCP, and food safety regulations.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving, time management, and team development skills.
- Proven track record in continuous improvement and lean tools.
- Experience in food/bakery manufacturing is a plus.
