School / Adv Applied Methods in Teaching Quebec Culture & Citizenship EDTL 634 : Continuation of topics covered in EDTL 633. A focus on geography as addressed in the secondary school curriculum is also included. Addressed through the development of appropriate professional competencies. Parts of this course may be undertaken in school settings. / EDTL 612: Continuation of topics covered in EDTL 633 and an examination of the ethics, and religious culture program in the secondary school, focusing on the conceptual framework, philosophical orientations and teaching practices. Addressed through the development of appropriate professional competencies. Parts of this course may be undertaken in school settings. Course Credits: 3 Number of positions available: 1 This course is not Team taught. Teaching Qualification Requirements: Education: a PHD (in exceptional cases, PhD candidates and master teachers with an MA with extensive relevant experience will be considered). Teaching degree or equivalent. Experience: Experience teaching social sciences in secondary schools. Expert knowledge of course content. Knowledge of the Quebec Education Program (QEP); Familiarity with the Professional Competencies specified by the Ministère de l’Éducation. Experience teaching in the Quebec secondary school system an asset. Experience mentoring pre-service teachers in internships an asset. Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) to pre-service teachers an asset. Familiarity with myCourses and Zoom or similar online course and meeting platforms an asset. Other: Commitment to working with a team of committed and engaged instructors. Must be available to attend course coordination and planning meeting minimum of 2 weeks in advance of course start date.
