Job Summary Job Description What is the opportunity? Global Operations is the functional core of RBC Capital Markets’ trading activities, ensuring the firm delivers services and execution that meet its reputation for having the stability, performance and strength to move forward. The Operations division is responsible for post-execution trade processing and maintaining controls for the entire trade lifecycle. This DS INC Capital Markets role falls within the Global Operations division, focusing on reconciliation design and enhancements and learning multiple desks within department in short period of time. In this role, you will liaise with front office, middle office, back office and trading desks contacts as well as external investment managers. What will you do? Help design, build, improve/enhance reconciliations within the department Cross training on multiple desks within department to assist with coverage as needed due to vacations/illness Process client requests including but not limited to trade corrections, trade Input and Bookkeeping Journals. Ability to multitask and learn multiple desks in a short period of time Utilization of Xceptor and Excel macros Liaise with front end trade desks, settlements, counterparties, and other internal/external stakeholders. Ensure compliance of all department procedures and policies What do you need to succeed? Must Have: University Degree (Bachelor of commerce) or equivalent in finance or related field. Strong, effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to learn remotely when required. Familiarity with market terminology Foundational Knowledge of many different financial products (equities, bonds and FX) Above average VBA macro skills and MS Excel skills (utilization of If statements, Vlookups and other formulas and calculations to help improve reconciliations) Self-starter, well-organized and able to work independently. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work and coordinate effectively within a team environment. Ability to prioritize work, multi-task responsibilities and take initiative to anticipate delivery Nice to Have Knowledge of the equity product flow from execution to settlement including exchange traded and broker to broker trades Successful completion of industry courses such as CSC, CPH Back office or trade support experience Broadridge related functions including but not limited to: Global Framework, Ascendis, MRGN, SINR, NEWB, TSIQ, MSDI. Ability to perform under pressure and meet time sensitive deadlines, sometimes for extended periods of time.
