Your Opportunity BDO Canada is seeking an experienced Senior Manager to join our National Assurance team. This hybrid role can be based in any of our Canadian office locations. As a Senior Manager, you will play a crucial role in developing guidance, tools, and training to empower our assurance professionals to deliver efficient, high-quality engagements that adhere to professional standards and firm policies. Key responsibilities: Technical Guidance & Methodology Development Develop and maintain internal and client-facing assurance publications, templates, and methodology guidance Update National manuals, tools, and policies to support effective and efficient engagement execution Translate regulatory and standard setting changes into practical resources Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Risk, Tax) to ensure guidance and methodology reflects the broader regulatory landscape and client environment Incorporate evolving technologies and tools that enhance assurance quality and efficiency Training & Knowledge Sharing Design and deliver impactful training programs for partners and staff (live and virtual and on-demand) Develop FAQs, internal guides, and communications to support consistent and efficient application of standards Support the transition to new platforms and methodologies through training that embraces digital enablement and evolving assurance practices Technical Research & Consultation Support Research Canadian and international assurance standards to inform updates Review consultations on assurance matters for private company engagements Quality & Compliance Support Contribute to firm-wide quality initiatives including CSQM implementation, and assurance quality enhancements Tool & Platform Enablement Maintain and enhance assurance templates and tools to align with standards and firm practices Champion the integration of innovative assurance technologies that align with our quality and methodology goals Collaboration & Communication Work closely with senior leaders, partners and staff to align on deliverables and timelines Engage with Standard-setting bodies in outreach initiatives and activities Prepare presentations and communications for internal and external stakeholders How do we define success for your role? You have strong knowledge of Canadian Assurance Standards (e.g., CAS, CSRE, CSQM, CSAE) You have experience delivering training or presentations You are comfortable working independently, managing deadlines, and handling multiple projects You bring working knowledge of intersecting areas such as ASPE, ASNPO, IFRS, independence, risk, and tax You have experience using assurance tools and platforms You are adaptable and forward-thinking, with a demonstrated ability to embrace change and leverage technology to improve assurance execution and training delivery Why BDO?
