Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the Manager Health Services, the incumbent is responsible for:
Liaising with administrative and medical leadership within assigned program areas.
Developing and understanding of the overall equipment needs within assigned program areas.
Isolate, identify and replace malfunctioning end user managed components of specialty equipment in order to minimize equipment downtime and therefore maximize patient care.
Ensure equipment malfunctions are logged in the incident reporting systems. Follow up on incident reports related to equipment/products
Support the arrangement of repair(s) of malfunctioning equipment with in-house or external clinical engineers/electronics technologists.
Maintain an appropriate supply of end user replacement parts for all equipment.
In partnership with Clinical Engineering, ensure all incoming equipment inspections are complete, equipment inventories are up to date and timely preventative maintenance is done.
Setting up new equipment and inservicing staff in the proper care and operation of critical equipment and products and functioning as a resource.

Maintain Key relationships with internal and external partners as required for procurement, repair, reprocessing, ordering etc.
Assist with sourcing equipment, equipment evaluations, clinical trials, staff in-service and creating requisitions for approved purchases in SAP.
In a team environment, work to ensure all program areas receive services required on an ongoing basis.
Experience
At least two years recent and related clinical experience in a complex healthcare environment is required.
Previous working experience working with healthcare equipment an asset.
Previous working experience in a critical care technical intensive health care environment an asset.
Prior teaching experience or demonstrated ability to teach is required.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Complete high school education, Manitoba standards.
Post-secondary education in a technology-based healthcare related field including but not limited to:
Registered Cardiology or EKG Technologist,
Entry-to-practice academic credential in Respiratory Therapy,
Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Imaging Technology,
Graduate of an approved and accredited Ultrasound training program,
Graduate of an accredited school of MRI Technology.
Current certification in hemodynamics, preferred.
An intensive on-the-job training program is provided by the Centre. Continuing education and maintenance of familiarity with equipment is required.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered by the Centre.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
Maintenance of regulatory body licensure is required where applicable.
Qualifications and Skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with proficiency in Excel.
Experience with inventory and ordering functions in SAP an asset.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Ability to work with a team as well as independently with minimal supervision when required.
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and written and oral communication skills.
Physical Requirements
Light to moderate physical demands including: extended periods of standing and walking; minimal lifting, bending or stretching is required.
