SAIT’s Continuing Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) focuses on non-credit programs supporting corporate training, the individual learner and international projects. We create courses and programs for life-long learning with careers at our core. Our courses range from exploring general interests to up-skilling for career advancement and reskilling for career changes. The Subject Matter Expert (SME) is to make use of any and all available resources, methods, techniques and strategies to ensure curriculum enables student success in an engaged, face to face environment. The Subject Matter Expert is expected to work collaboratively with colleagues and product strategists to create a learning atmosphere which is pedagogically sound, technically supported, and innovative in nature.
SAIT is looking for an SME to support a Carbon Economy Research project
We are in the early stages of defining this initiative and require the expertise of a SME to help map out the ecosystem of the carbon economy. This effort requires a specialized skill set and there is significant value in engaging a SME who is currently active in the industry and has prior experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, Energy, and Project Management.
Initial SME contract would be 5 - 10 hours for consultation and design with Product Managers.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate to scope the possibilities for training around the carbon economy
Design a high-level ecosystem map for the carbon economy and affected industries
Identify cross industry learning outcomes for suggested courses
Deliverables:
Ecosystem Map of industries affected by Carbon Regulations
Suggested pathways of intersecting learning pathways
High level outcomes for different learning pathways
Qualifications:
Education in environmental sustainability, engineering, or data management or relevant experience
Experience with Carbon Accounting Software such as Arbor, consulting industry on approaches to managing carbon compliance and handling carbon data, supply chain consulting, and climate technology
Relevant technical experience within the last six (6) months
Experience and fluency with Office 365 (MS Word, Outlook and SharePoint)
Experience with videoconferencing technology (MS Teams, WebX, Skype or Zoom)
Fluent in English reading and vocabulary
Positive & respectful attitude
Ability to read, interpret and deliver specific curriculum
Excellent communication skills
Ability to organize and present written information
Desired:
Experience with curriculum development or instructional design
Formal training or education in facilitation or teaching
