As the Technical Supervisor, you are responsible for validating the manufacturability of new products and optimizing the manufacturing processes to ready the product for mass production. You drive continuous improvement of production lines in your product categories and build a strong team of skilled manufacturing employees while demonstrating, coaching and fostering behaviors that are aligned with Arc’teryx culture and values.

You will work with a team of Production Supervisors and collaborate with other key collaborators from Production, Engineering, Training, Production Quality, Maintenance and other departments.

If you were the Technical Supervisor now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
Oversee sample and bulk Production line in collaboration with key leaders and individual contributors.
Set and achieve all performance KPIs for sample and bulk production lines.
Work closely with Planning and Technical Development teams to determine sampling capacity, schedule samples, and ensure timely execution.
Align with the Quality team on brand and product quality expectations, ensuring samples meet required standards. Mentor and coach the production team to uphold quality and compliance standards.
Collaborate with Engineering team on size runs and mini-bulk sample production to validate new products and verify processes before launch.
Work with Technical developers to provide constructive feedback on Design for Manufacturing improvements.
Provide technical training to production teams, ensuring a smooth transition from sampling to mass production.
Create detail delivery plans for your product category and communicate and lead the product lines to achieve quality output to meet scheduled delivery
Foster and maintain a high performing workforce by developing, empowering employees and creating a culture of continuous improvement
Proactively identify opportunities for improvements in production flow, processes, techniques and methodologies that will improve and sustain long term success of the production lines and lead and empower your teams to execute the improvements
Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve challenging production issues to ensure clear directions are provided to the production lines to keep delivery schedule
Support with other special projects as assigned

You ensure production related data in our internal systems are accurate and updated on time, providing clear visibility and interactive functions to enable accurate reporting and planning in relation to delivery, quality, planning and performance management.
You prepare and communicate production status updates to key internal and external collaborators on regular base of daily, weekly and monthly to get aligned about focuses, priorities and projections.
You support with other special projects as assigned

Build relationships with Production Planning and learn how to plan and organize manpower to prevent backlogs and bottlenecks
Work on projects in collaboration with Engineering and Production Quality to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the production line operations
Are you our next Technical Supervisor?
You have secondary education in Apparel Design/ Apparel production or equivalent combination of education and experience.
You have 8+ years of apparel manufacturing experience and 3+ years of experience in a leadership role.
You have a deep knowledge of garment construction, standards, and production methods
You have an intermediate knowledge in pattern construction
You have a good understanding of the product development process - from prototyping to bulk production
You are able to set objectives, put plans together to deliver the objectives, and communicate and align your team on common objectives for optimal execution.
You have proven track record in workforce planning and resource management across multiple production lines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
You have excellent communication skills and have ability to manage diverse interests and conflicting priorities
You have experiences in change management including ability to manage diverse background, cultures and behaviors.
You have good interpersonal skills and the ability to mentor, lead and develop the team.
You have experience with LEAN or modular manufacturing
You have strong experience with Quality process in manufacturing environment.
You have proficient computer skills, as required for day-to-day activities at the factory and in collaboration with various teams in Operations.
You are result driven, proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
You seek the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right

Assets
You have a post-secondary education in Engineering, Business Administration or another relevant field.
You have experience with garment design or product development
You have experience in manual and automation operations.
You have knowledge and experience working with LEAN, 6S and working with KPIs

$82,000 - $102,000 a year
A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$82,000 - CAD$102,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and/or training. The upper end of the range is typically reserved for candidates with demonstrated expertise that is above job requirements or who bring exceptional directly transferable experience.
