Job Description Reporting to the Director, Internal Communications, this position is part of the Public Affairs team at Extendicare and supports internal communications for long-term care, ParaMed home care and Head Office. The ideal candidate is highly organized and collaborative, has a strong understanding of internal communications fundamentals, is comfortable with technology, and has an interest in health care and elder care. This position is based at our Markham Ontario head office. Extendicare offers a hybrid work environment. What you will do: Coordinate and post content across multiple channels, including our intranet, e-newsletters and internal marketing campaigns. Collaborate with our Marketing team to ensure all internal communications reflect our brand and design standards. Create e-newsletters and manage distribution lists, working closely with content providers within Public Affairs and across the organization. Support organization-wide leadership events, including a quarterly virtual forum and a bi-annual in-person conference. Participate in planning and brainstorming to continually bring fresh ideas and approaches to internal communication across the organization. Support ongoing analytics and reporting for internal communications initiatives and channels, to measure effectiveness and drive continuous learning and improvement. Share responsibility for managing central communications mailboxes to ensure timely responses to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders. Be open to continually evolving our approaches to best meet our internal stakeholders’ needs. Requirements: University degree or college diploma in Communications, Marketing or comparable experience. One to two years of experience in a communications role. This can include hands-on educational or co-op experience. Familiarity with internal communications, public affairs and event planning. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, Teams and Forms. Thrives in fast-paced, issue-driven and team-based environment, with a demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and succinctly. Ability to quickly shift priorities and manage competing timelines. Multimedia, video, photography, graphic design software and web content management systems experience, and/or familiarity with Workday, MailChimp, ServiceNow, Vimeo and other applications, considered an asset.
