Based at the Upper Beaver Site, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Shaft Deck Operator to join our Shaft team.
Reporting to the Shaft Supervisor, you will be an integral part of the Shaft Sinking Department, supporting the Upper Beaver Gold project. Your role will involve ensuring that all goals and objectives are met while upholding Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and environmental standards.
The Shaft Deck Operator will participate to the mining and construction activities with his crew.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities will include:
Organize deck.
Follow the daily planning done shaft by supervisor.
Prepare gear baskets for concrete and drilling
Prepare steel set and service pipes.
Inspect and organize rigging equipment.
Sling and send all materials to sinking crew.
Participate at the coordination of the concrete pour and send concrete to the slick line.
Operate winches for concrete boot, ventilation and plimb lines.
Prepare explosives for sinking crew.
Operate Loader, Manitou and other mobile equipment.
Ensure that the work areas, equipment, and work practices comply with the regulatory codes, statues, and company requirements
Communication-Listen to and communicate with colleagues, keep accurate records on 5-point card, aligning with daily tastks.
Liases effectively with colleagues and managers regarding various work situations and the activities within the department.
All other duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Our ideal candidate has:
Shaft Sinking experience on deck required, minimum 5 years.
Hoisting and rigging course certificate.
Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
Ontario common core.
Ability to work in a team setting and independently.
Self-starting work ethic.
