About the Role
My client is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to play a pivotal role in designing and maintaining the backend infrastructure for their innovative platform. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong foundation in computer science who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is eager to work on impactful projects.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including engineering, product, and leadership—to design scalable, maintainable backend systems.
Analyze and solve complex technical challenges, and communicate solutions effectively within the team.
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
Promote and implement best practices in software development, proactively addressing technical debt and staying current with new technologies.
Monitor, optimize, and ensure the reliability and scalability of backend systems.
Lead project planning, technical design, estimation, and delivery, ensuring alignment across teams.
Contribute to team growth by supporting process improvements and mentoring peers.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in backend or full-stack software development.
Strong computer science fundamentals with advanced proficiency in Go and Node.js (required).
Experience with C++ is highly desirable.
Solid understanding of backend architecture, design patterns, data structures, and databases.
Proven experience building distributed, scalable systems and APIs in a service-oriented environment.
Familiarity with deploying infrastructure on AWS.
Excellent collaboration skills and a passion for working with multidisciplinary teams.
Adaptability, resourcefulness, and a proactive approach—startup experience is a plus.
Demonstrated ownership and pride in delivering high-quality work.
