All about the role:
As a Senior Project Manager within Skip’s PMO, you will play a crucial role in driving priority projects that support our key strategic initiatives. The Enterprise PMO works alongside our Operations and Strategic Initiatives team, ensuring a close connection between strategic initiatives and high-impact projects. Reporting to the Associate Director of Enterprise Project Management, you will oversee the entire project management lifecycle using a comprehensive strategic playbook that guides every stage of delivery.
Location: Hybrid- 3 days a week from our Toronto or Winnipeg office & 2 days working from home
Reporting to: Associate Director, Project Management
Key Responsibilities:
Drives multiple key projects or programs simultaneously across various areas of the business ranging from 3-9 months in length
Carries influence of project outcomes by working in close partnership with the project Lead, Sponsor, and Exec Sponsor; Capable of changing the trajectory of a project or program through their craft and leadership skills
Demonstrates exceptional ownership in adherence to project management fundamentals, such as over-communication surrounding project priorities, scope, risks and driving mitigation plans, and KPI development, while aligning with Skip’s overall strategy and objectives
Owns regular status calls and escalation paths for resolving complex challenges that arise cross-functionally
Sets a standard for what is active stakeholder management and engagement, with advanced skills that focus on building and maintaining strong relationships and ensuring expectations are thoroughly understood and met
Actively engages with teams through scoping and communicates their project plan to drive conversations proactively that lead to intended outcomes across a portfolio of projects and various stakeholders
Recipes for Success:
7+ years of project management experience in digital marketing, product or agency environment
Experience leading large cross-functional projects involving senior stakeholders
Team player willing to take on any challenge with a positive attitude while also helping support the development of junior members on the team
Solution-oriented, critical thinker who maintains the big picture goals with the day-to-day execution of various projects
Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment juggling varying priorities, deadlines and communication styles
Skills:
Communication: Perform at an expert level - peaks at external & internal events. Is able to communicate confidently with Exco Members. Can confidently engage senior business leaders in broad strategic conversations.
Prioritization: Ability to to influence stakeholder decision making with prioritization rationale, as a result is able to say no, but with context behind it.
Collaboration: Partners with senior members of all disciplines across multiple pillars, gaining support and advocacy for their pillar's products and goals. Works with senior leadership across the business and tech organizations, championing their products and services
Analytical & Problem Solving: At the expert level, senior PMs are recognized authorities in problem-solving and analytics within their domain or industry. They have extensive experience tackling the most challenging and high-impact problems and possess exceptional analytical abilities. Their leadership skills are strong, allowing them to mentor and develop others in Project Management skills and influence at the highest levels of an organization. They are thought leaders and innovators in their field, capable of driving transformative change across the organization through their insights and expertise.
Vision & Strategy: Demonstrates the ability to set compelling vision and strategy for their department, clearly identifying the challenges the strategy overcomes / opportunities that the strategy takes advantage of.
