We are currently seeking a Full-Time Registered Practical Nurse to work with our AbleLiving Binbrook Team at our Congregate Living Program.
AbleLiving Services is part of the Thrive Group. We are a not for profit organization that provides services funded through Ontario Health. Ableliving opened its doors in 1978 with the first project being our Binbrook location. We continue to build the organization and provide exceptional services with the support from Ontario Health. Our Binbrook location provides supports for individuals with disabilities, seniors, as well as those with long term chronic ventilation support needs.
AbleLiving Services is eligible to hire nurses who meet the required criteria for the Community Commitment Program for Nurses (CCPN). As an eligible nurse, you could receive up to $25,000 within a 24-month period. Duties include:
Monitor the health status of persons with disabilities and the senior population. Provide nursing services within the defined scope of practice. Monitor the building to ensure the security and safety of clients, staff, and guests; and take appropriate action in an emergency situation.
REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of a vocational, college or other approved program for licensed practical nurses and registration with a regulatory body required.
Must have successfully completed the Canadian Practical Nurses Registration Examination and possess a current Registered Nursing Certificate of Competence for the Province of Ontario.
Knowledge of Behaviour Strategies is an asset.
Experience as an RPN working with persons with a disability and the senior population is an asset.
Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Must demonstrate the ability to use tact and discretion and display professionalism at all times; demonstrate sound judgment and flexibility and be able to solve problems effectively.
Must be able to meet physical requirements of the job such as lifting and transferring residents.
