Responsibilities of Project Team Leader: Overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling, and overall closure of a variety of projects Align projects with Onni’s high standards, and report to VP of Construction What Will You Do? Scheduling: Lead the development, tracking, and maintenance of complex project schedules across multiple sites or a large-scale project. Analyze and manage the critical path, proactively accelerating timelines to meet key milestones and final deadlines. Provide high-level schedule reporting and updates to executive leadership, including Directors. Management and Leadership: Oversee the full tendering and procurement process; manage contract administration at a senior level. Drive overall project planning and define scope for all subcontractors, consultants, and internal team members. Lead resource planning and allocation across internal departments and external partners to optimize project execution. Direct project documentation, internal/external communication, and executive-level reporting. Collaborate with senior leadership on detailed cost estimating and comprehensive budget development. Uphold strict quality control measures and ensure all work meets corporate and industry standards. Proactively manage changes in project scope, assess potential risks, and implement contingency strategies when required. Provide expert-level troubleshooting and solution-oriented problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle. Lead and mentor a team that may include Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Superintendents, and Junior Project Managers. Ensure all aspects of the project—budget, schedule, and specifications—are achieved without compromise. Partner with the Leasing and Development teams to prepare tenant improvement budgets and timelines for prospective clients. What You Bring: Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in the construction industry, with a focus on large-scale commercial, mixed-use, or multi-family residential projects. Proven track record managing multiple projects simultaneously or leading a large complex development from start to finish. Strong leadership experience in a project management capacity, with the ability to guide teams through all stages of development and construction. Experience with contract negotiation, change management, and stakeholder engagement at a senior level. Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is an asset. Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent is an asset.
