Duties/Responsibilities:
Provides housekeeping duties to maintain a home-like environment that is clean, tidy, attractive and safe, employing diligent sanitation practices that ensure effective infection control.
Work collaboratively with other team members; interact positively with residents, residents’ families, visitors and all health team members
Ensure the highest quality of sanitation, cleanliness, and attention to the excellent appearance of our residence and our resident’s clothing,
Clean areas using appropriate cleaning and sanitation procedures. Such cleaning will include, but not be limited to sinks, toilets, tubs, furniture, all facility fixtures, walls, ceilings, lights, vents and windows.
Operate floor care machines and steam cleaning equipment and strips, scrubs, sprays, buffs and refinishes all carpet and non-carpet floor surfaces.
Perform appropriate garbage removal and disposal, including potentially infectious materials and incontinence products
Adapt cleaning schedule to meet the needs of the resident and other scheduled activities.
Assist in the labelling, collection, distribution, sorting and inspection of clean and soiled personal clothing and linens.
Participate in department Quality Improvement/Risk Management program and any department/facility committees as requested.
Be aware of and practice residence’s fire safety and emergency programs.
Requirements:
Good communication skills, in English, both orally and in writing.
Good listening skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Demonstrated ability to respond to the needs of others - i.e. residents in one's care, and co-workers.
Proven ability to work well under pressure.
Able to complete work with minimal direction.
