Consider joining us, if you enjoy:Connecting guests to the extraordinary place we call home.Discovering a broad offering of career pathsLearning and thriving among a group of international hospitality professionalsBeing passionate about people and attentive to the world - we are globetrotters!Going beyond the walls of our hotel to support our community.Taking pride in our differencesThen this could be THE perfect opportunity for you, and we cannot wait to welcome you.#WeAreHamiltonPrincessJob DescriptionSummary of Responsibilities:Reporting to the coffee shop assistant manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:Maintain a high level of professionalism in all aspects of job performance, practice Fairmont Service Promise’s in all interactionsDemonstrate knowledge of Food and Beverage products and menus, daily features, specials and services provided by the department and the hotel as provided in pre-shift meetingsExhibit a complete understanding of Fairmont Food & Beverage standard operating policies & proceduresContribute to the improvement of the operation of the room by contributing ideas, making suggestions and actively participate in departmental communication meetingsPerform opening and closing duties according to department standards and have a complete understanding of all the duties and responsibilities of the coffee shopSet up coffee shop work stations daily including stocking display areas, grab & go shelves and condiments for guests usageReplenish stock and prep as necessary throughout service for Espresso Bar, Food Prep area, Cold Bar, customer Service areaMake recommendations and suggestions on the food and beverage offerings while taking food and beverage orders from guestsPrepare fresh beans, brew coffee, prepare specialty coffees and service items to goPrepare and serve menu items such as pastries, sandwich, salad, smoothies, ice cream, milkshakes and sell retail merchandise itemsControl float and handling of cash, including but not limited to preparing guest bar bills, receipt of cash, cashing out at the end of shift and locking receipts/float in safeProvide food and beverage service at the counter and tables including set up of cutlery, delivery of items, table maintenance and clearing dishes to dish area Ensure cleanliness of all service and guests areas including cleaning and polishing the display shelves, mirrors, glasses, counter top, chairs, tables, cooler doors and display shelvesMonitor adequate daily stock of ingredients and snacks including all non-alcoholic beverages, and complete daily and monthly inventoryAny ’86 items are communicated to both serving team and supervisor on dutyComplete food and general requisitions on a daily basis to ensure complete stock levels of all coffee shop items and collect daily items needed for operationsEnsure adequate stock of clean china, silverware and glassware by washing dirty items and restocking the station with clean china, silverware and glassware, clean blenders / coffee machine, counter, tables and equipment and maintain cleanliness of the ice wellWipe down counters and back splash area, clean nitro machine and sweep floor area when needed.Ensure that all equipment is functional and ensure cabinets and refrigerators are locked/unlocked dailyFollow all safety and sanitation policies including the removal of rubbishStrict adherence to all Health & Safety training, guidelines and work practices previous, during and following an epidemic (whether local or global) that are established by Accor, local government, international bodies including the World Health Organization (WHO) and Center for disease control (CDC)Perform any other duties, tasks, and assignments within your department as required.QualificationsQualifications: Must be passionate about coffee, from raw bean to roasting, grinding and extractionPrevious Food & Beverage and/or retail experience requiredSilverware / POS experience an assetExcellent communication and organizational skillsStrong interpersonal and problem solving abilitiesHighly responsible & reliableThe ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as requiredThe ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environmentThe ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervisionAbility to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all timesAdditional InformationPhysical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): Sitting: 0-1 hr/dayWalking: 6-8 hr/dayStanding: 6-8 hr/dayBending/reaching: 4-6 hr/dayPushing/pushing: 4-6 hr/dayPhysical effort: required to lift up to 50lbsEnvironmental stress: busy atmosphere
