The Junior Civil Technical Coordinator will be responsible for tracking and monitoring all on-site civil construction activities to ensure developments remain on schedule, within scope, with a high level of quality.
This position is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Your contributions to the team include:
Take ownership of assigned civil projects during the construction stage
Produce regular reports on the progress of projects
Oversee and coordinate request for information (RFI) processes
Assist in tracking changes to project scope and distribution of updated project drawings to trades and project team
Track and coordinate on-site civil staff and trades to ensure that specifications are met
Liaise with civil site inspector on a continual basis to ensure quality standards and progress
Resolve any risks and issues which occur throughout the project lifecycle
Use project scheduling and control tools to monitor civil projects
Keep the Project Team informed about project status and issues that may impact client relations, occupancy, trade, or construction delays
Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the construction management team
Develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
Assist civil team members with other duties as assigned
What you need to be successful:
Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Civil Technology, Project Management or equivalent
2-5 years of civil construction or civil engineering experience
2-5 years of experience supporting Project Managers in the delivery of projects
Knowledge of civil construction means and methods, including: earthworks, utility work, piling, erosion control and compaction
Understanding of survey and layout
Proficiency in MS Office and construction management software
Understanding of methodology and terminology in the civil construction industry
Solid attention to detail with the ability to be a problem solver
High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and reasoning
Able to work well under pressure and meet established deadlines
Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
Proven ability to read civil plans and other construction drawings
Able to interpret geotechnical reports and various soil conditions
Ability to perform quantitative takeoffs of construction drawings is considered an asset
