SUMMARY
Reporting to the Accounts Payable Supervisor, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for processing a high volume of invoices in a collaborative team environment. In addition, the Accounts Payable Clerk will have strong analytical skills with the ability to review and identify unusual invoices and communicate closely with the Accounts Payable Supervisor or Manager on any outstanding issues.
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
Match receipts to applicable supplier invoices.
Data entry of supplier invoices on a timely basis, respecting due date and cash discounts (approx. 1,000 invoices per month).
Coding and data entry of expense payables ensuring appropriate approvals.
Coding and data entry of high-volume freight invoices ensuring appropriate approvals.
Assist with filing, scanning, photocopying, and faxing for Accounts Payable department.
Sort and distribute Accounts Payable invoices as required.
Investigate questions from suppliers and the field as required.
Reconcile General Ledger accounts as required.
Cost analysis.
Process weekly cheque runs.
Process employee expense reports.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Excellent English communication skills with an emphasis on customer service – written for email correspondence and verbal for phone discussions
Detail oriented and able to analyze and assess situations for the best outcome
Accurate data entry
Experience with full-cycle accounting is an asset
Excellent organizational skills
Familiar with standard office equipment such as photocopier, adding machine, mail processing, postage machine, fax and scanning equipment
Able to communicate effectively with internal staff and work in a team-focused environment
Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)

EDUCATION
High school graduation is a requirement
Diploma or Certificate in Business Administration or Accounting is preferred
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The typical hiring range for this position is $50,000 - $54,000 annually. The base pay offered is based on geographical location and may vary depending on the applicant’s job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. Similar positions located in other geographical locations may not necessarily receive the same salary range. The compensation information is an estimate and provided to meet with applicable provincial Pay Transparency legislation.
