ABOUT THE ROLE
The Sales Representative is responsible for aggregate sales, marketing, & strategy development in the Greater Calgary Area. This individual will achieve sales objectives and improve overall profitability. This role will be responsible for customer base expansion, driving revenue performance, achieving sales & financial goals while focusing on high quality customer service. This includes project/bid quoting, customer relations, project management, quality control management, logistics management, and systematic collection of market intelligence (i.e. competitor activity, bid follow up & tracking).
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
Achieve volume/market share and price/profitability objectives by plant, product, and customer/market segment.
Assist in the market share analyses and formulation of sales & marketing strategies, and executes the strategies
Identify customer needs, translate them into sales opportunities, communicate product value, build strong relationships, create tailored quotes and bids, follow up on bids, and manage pricing, volume, and supply details for existing and potential customers
Identify and monitor competitor supply sources, assess and communicate their product quality and services, and recommend actions based on competitor activity
Proactively track and manage construction activity, identify and recommend opportunities, monitor product supply issues, and represent Lafarge on industry committees while staying informed on market position
Coordinate closely with other product line personnel to ensure effective customer and market coordination
Document and communicate customer complaints, collaborate with Customer Service to resolve issues, share positive feedback when expectations are exceeded, and work closely with internal teams to foster an effective work environment
Generate accurate invoices using APEX/SAP, enter quotations, resolve errors, document and distribute market information, and prepare timely reports
Responsible for customer account aging and support of collection activities to minimize outstanding receivables.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: University Degree
Field of Study Preferred: Business or Engineering
Required Work Experience: 3-5 years of sales expereince in the consutrction materials industry
Travel Requirements: 15%

Results- and detail-oriented, with a strong work ethic and the ability to analyze market activities and develop strategies.
Proficient in problem-solving, analytical thinking, and utilizing computer systems to drive efficiency and success.
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
