We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Project Engineering Co-Op Student. This role is based at our London plant. The Co-Op Student will assist in the implementation and sustainability of corporate plant projects facility-wide. Introduce new resources into the facility to improve safety, replacement, and additional capacity. Improve efficiency and ensure safety to achieve the plant goals. Key responsibilities: Management of Change (MOC) generation. Initiate and lead projects as assigned. Maintain a security monitoring system. Lead and maintain the power consumption database and all associated activities. Liaise with external vendors to ensure project contract requirements are met. Participate in process upgrades and improvement projects. Identify critical technical obstacles and make accurate technical decisions to overcome issues by anticipating and becoming proficient in the technical aspects of projects. Contact suppliers for pricing, specifications, features, and samples. Present the information to management and work with vendors for purchase and after-purchase inquiries. Track and report on the progress of the project to management. Keep all collaborators aware of progress and issues. Handle numerous projects concurrently while meeting target dates. Build work instructions where applicable. Continuous monitoring of project risk, and mitigation as appropriate. Other duties as assigned. Job requirements: Pursuing a degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering is preferred. Previous experience in a plastics manufacturing environment is helpful. Previous experience in a project management role and/or looking after a multi-functional team is an asset. Experience in 2D and 3D model design using CAD/CAM software. Work to understand requirements of PSHSR, OHSA, O. Reg 851, and basic electrical safety standards. Undertake routine courses to understand injection molding.
