Job DescriptionSteward HelperEvery memorable dining experience at Fairmont Hotels begins behind the scenes with our Culinary team’s commitment to safe and efficient operations. As a Steward Helper, you will play an important role in support of your Colleagues and the preparation of exceptional cuisine.Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive service to all our guest and colleaguesMaintains a safe and clean work environment and ensures that all Health & Safety standards are met, procedures followed and has the knowledge and tools to work safelyMaintain awareness of and ensuring compliance with all food safety & hygiene policies and procedures are followed at all timesCompletes all temperature records, honestly and correctly.Deliver a clean & sanitary work area and equipment in all Food & Beverage areas, including the staff cafeteria & Fairmont GoldDaily cleaning duties of all F&B back spaces and equipment.Operating the main dishwashers and restocking equipment in all Food and Beverage areas.Maintains proper recycling and composting proceduresAssists the Kitchen team with food service delivery as neededHas good knowledge of WHIMIS.Maintain awareness of and ensuring compliance with all sustainability and food waste reduction/diversion policies, procedures and programs at the hotelPromoting teamwork between Stewarding and all other departments, especially food and beverage service colleagues & leadersAdhere to Fairmont Palliser’s policies, procedures and standard of operationsPerforms other duties as assignedQualificationsOne year previous experience in a similar position is an asset.Able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume KitchenShould be able to handle multiple tasks in a timely mannerStrong organizational skillsA strong capacity to work with and motivate a culturally diverse work forceEnergetic, self-motivated, out-going, team-playerAdditional InformationWhat is in it for you:Employee benefit card offering discounted rates in Accor worldwideLearning programs through our AcademiesOpportunity to develop your talent and grow within your property and across the world!Ability to make a difference through our Corporate Social Responsibility activities, like Susatinability programThe applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
