CLAIMS ADVISOR, COMMERCIAL INSURANCE
The Claims Advisor supports the commercial department, with success in this role driven by a strong knowledge of the claims process as well as the ability to effectively assist clients with this process. The Claims Advisor is responsible to provide claims advocacy support for existing clients claims as well as assist new business Producers with obtaining new accounts by communicating the overall claims service proposition. A sense of urgency, quick follow-up and strong organizational skills are required.

Brampton, ON or Ottawa, ON
Full-time, permanent, in-office
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
Submit initial claim report to insurers plus regular follow up
Provide claims advocacy support on behalf of the client
Liaise with adjusters and insurance companies on the client’s behalf
Assist commercial producers with claims queries and overall navigation of claims process
Tracking of claims costs
Maintaining up-to-date loss histories
Reporting and tracking large losses
Ensuring proper documentation of all incoming and outgoing claims communication in the broker management system (EPIC)
Assistance with Personal Insurance and catastrophe claims may also be required
QUALIFICATIONS
2-5 years of insurance claims related experience in the insurance industry
RIBO license required, or willingness to obtain the license
CIP designation or working towards is considered an asset
