To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What you'll be doing As a z/OS Intermediate DB2 Systems Programmer, you will be responsible for providing technical direction and subject matter expertise to ensure stable, reliable DB2 Database environments for complex DB2 Data Sharing initiatives in a Parallel Sysplex Data Sharing configuration. You will adhere to CIBC compliance and established controls, standards and related polices. designing, configuring, implementing and maintaining OEM software products on the z/OS Mainframe platform. In addition, you also have expertise in SMP/E product installations related maintenance upgrades. You will review OEM software APARS & HIPHER PTF's to ensure your software products have the latest maintenance patches applied to ensure reliability and performance. Demonstrated ability to lead problem identification and resolution exercises while engaging external OEM software vendors. Solid expertise in monitoring the health and performance of the OEM software products in a z/OS Parallel Sysplex configuration. How you'll succeed Technical Expertise – you will leverage your solid technology expertise to implement & configure mainframe OEM software products @ n-1 supported levels. You may participate in business case analysis exercises to determine business impact & costs associated with product migrations in our z/OS mainframe environment. You will help to ensure software is maintained at supported levels to avoid End of Support costs. Effective Communication – you will work to accomplish organizational goals that are consistent in supporting both IT and Business objectives, communicate effectively and patiently across technology teams to influence teams to adopt solutions to keep critical systems secure and operationally resilient. You will provide and document problem analysis, resolution, and prevention, designing procedures and best practice techniques, using IBM and ISV online tools for opening and managing problem report tracking and resolution. You will actively participate in periodic disaster recovery exercises, maintaining disaster recovery readiness of systems, and monitoring status of systems to proactively prevent issues from occurring. Relationship Management – You will collaborate with internal business partners in Application Development, Infrastructure, IT Operations, and IT Production Support to accomplish organizational goals that are consistent in supporting both IT and Business objectives. You will work directly with Hardware and Software vendors on solutions, build your network, and deepen existing relationships. You will leverage your verbal, written, and presentation communication skills to build strong partnerships, while influencing participants to mutually beneficial outcomes. Who you are You can demonstrate a minimum of 8-10 years' experience in implementing & configuring z/OS DB2 software and related products such as : (DB2 Connect, QMF, etc). Configure and maintain DB2 security with RACF. Implement rule based access controls. Develop and maintain automation scripts (REXX, CLIST,JCL) for administration tasks. Proven experience in applying SMP/E maintenance (PTFs, APARS, HIPER fixes) and perform periodic DB2 version upgrades. Diagnose and resolve DB2 abends (SQL codes & system failures). You bring experience with DB2 utilities (LOAD, REORG, RUNSTATS, COPY) and are familiar with mainframe storge (VSAM, ICF Catalogs , SMS ) You put our clients first.
