PFG is the leading manufacturer of float glass in Southern Africa, as well as laminated glass, mirrors, and sealant products. The company produces 260 000 tons of float glass products per annum, supplying into both domestic and international building and automotive industries.MAIN JOB PURPOSE
To ensure the efficient, timeous, safe, and proper delivery of glass products to customers in acceptable condition, while minimizing breakages. The incumbent will also be responsible for ensuring the roadworthiness and safety compliance of assigned vehicles and glass delivery trailers through regular inspections and servicing.
MAIN OBJECTIVES
Deliver glass loads to certified customers within the designated KwaZulu-Natal region in a safe and satisfactory manner.
Ensure tarpaulins are correctly placed and secured on trailers to minimize product breakages during transit.
Verify that the correct size, thickness, and type of glass are loaded and offloaded according to delivery schedules, ensuring the product is free from damage.
Assist with various glass handling duties including loading, stacking, dispatching, and crating.
De-stuff open or general-purpose containers and break bulk shipments; decorate glass crates where applicable.
Visually inspect glass packs for breakages, stains, or faults and promptly report discrepancies to the supervisor.
Operate forklifts and overhead crane gantry systems in a safe and certified manner.
Support with physical stock counts and maintain a clean and organized work environment through general housekeeping duties.
CRITICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
Grade 12 (Matric Certificate)
Valid Code 14 Driver’s Licence with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
Certified Forklift and Crane Operator Licence
Knowledge
Proficiency in operating Code 14 vehicles
Basic computer literacy

Experience
Minimum of 5 years’ driving experience
Experience in a logistics or distribution environment
