We are looking for a PAR (Privacy Access Requests) / Disability Claims Processor
In this role, the Disability Claims Processor is primarily responsible for Privacy Access Requests (PARs) that are received within our DMSOs and forwarded to our centralized PAR team. These requests originate from our disability claimants or their lawyers and it is critical that we fulfil this request within the legislated timeframe. Only specific information allowed by our Privacy provisions is released. This is now primarily a paperless process and incumbent would join a small team dedicated to serving the DMSOs and our customers. In addition to and as time permits, the incumbent may be asked to perform other Disability Claims Processor duties such as calculating and issuing short and long-term disability benefit payments, complete the set-up of new STD claims and calculations, and assess Maintenance long term disability claims in accordance with contractual and corporate policy.
What you will do
Analyze, digitally prepare, and release copies of claims files, with strict adherence to our Privacy provisions and legislated timelines.
At the direction of the Case Manager and in accordance with contractual provisions, calculate and issue short and long-term disability benefit payments.
For new claims, complete the claim set up including the initial benefit calculation.
For maintenance of long-term disability claims, request and assess medical updates and follow up as required.
Other duties as required including data verification and other resolving system discrepancies

As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (fluent in French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only as the position will regularly serve our clients with French and English-speaking needs.
Reliability Status security clearance - this is a personnel security status that is required before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website
The base salary for this position is between $34,200.00 - $51,300.00 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
