Capital Power is seeking a motivated and analytical Intern to join our Energy Markets and Low Carbon Solutions team for a full-time, paid co-op term located in either Edmonton or Calgary, Alberta. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to learn and passionate about the transition to a low-carbon future. You will contribute to the team by: Conducting research on energy market and low carbon trends, policies, and technologies. Analyzing data and extracting insights for internal and external stakeholders. Collaborating with team members to support ongoing projects and initiatives. Supporting the operations of the team as required through the execution of core tasks. Supporting risk assessments as required to ensure fulsome assessments of risks and rewards. Staying updated on industry developments and emerging trends. Participating in team meetings and contributing to discussions. What you will bring to the role: Education: Working towards an undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics or related field. Experience & Technical Skills: A reliable team player who demonstrates professionalism, eagerness to learn, and a proactive attitude. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with AI tools to support data analysis and workflow efficiency. A foundational understanding of the power industry, energy markets, and sustainability concepts. Working Conditions: Open to candidates in Edmonton or Calgary, Alberta Hybrid Office/Work from home position, with possible very minimal travel to meet business users at Capital Power facilities or other offices.
