Senior Project Manager, Regulatory Projects - Hybrid The Opportunity The Regulatory Projects team at the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) seeks a self-motivated, proactive, and collaborative Senior Project Manager to deliver on compelling and complex enterprise initiatives. As the Senior Project Manager, you will ensure the execution of the project management framework and is the lead and expert in project management methodologies, tools, and processes, providing project-specific guidance, organization and communication to the project team and project stakeholders. You can expect projects of high complexity and sensitivity, which present complex challenges in development and implementation. What your day-to-day will look like: Lead the development and implementation of project management methodologies tailored to assigned projects, while providing comprehensive support to the project team, bridging knowledge and expertise gaps. Collaborate with project team members, leaders, and stakeholders to clearly define project scope, deliverables, and timelines in alignment with stakeholder and client needs, fostering support both internally and externally within the organization. Contribute to the enhancement of the regulatory project management framework by assisting in the design and development of tools, processes, and methodologies. Monitor and manage resources allocated to assigned projects, driving the team towards meeting scope and timelines. Proactively identify, track, and resolve risks and issues associated with projects, implementing mitigation strategies to prevent or minimize their impact. Provide regular project performance reports encompassing status updates, progress evaluations, and risk assessments, identifying areas requiring intervention to ensure project success. Advise and share knowledge with internal and external project stakeholders on project management best practices. What we’re looking for in you: Bachelor’s degree in business, science, public policy, engineering, or related discipline. 8–10 years of experience in project or program management. A background in regulatory development is considered a strong asset. Enhanced expertise in project methodologies. Experience managing project budgets and resources. PMP/PgMP preferred or working towards these designations. PROSCI certification is considered an asset. Exert meaningful influence across teams and initiatives, regardless of official authority. Display proficiency in communication, strategic thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and experience in risk, change, and stakeholder management.
