Dance Instructor
Job Status: Continuous Part-Time
Pay & Grade: $23.81 to 32.14 hourly
Hours of Work:Up to 24 hours per week

Overview
Seeking a dedicated Dance Instructor to teach recreational dance classes starting in the fall. An ideal candidate will have experience in dance instruction, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering creativity in a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment. The position will start with 1 to 2 programs per week during the fall session.
Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging dance programs for participants in styles such as ballroom, tap, jazz, line dance and other cultural dance forms
Demonstrate and teach dance techniques using established methods, providing helpful feedback to participants
Modify programs as needed to ensure the inclusion of all participants and integrate inclusion staff, private support workers and volunteers into programs as required
Reviews emergency procedures with participants and follow established procedures during emergencies
Prepare and organize necessary music and equipment
Maintain accurate records, including class attendance and incident reports, and distribute relevant forms and program information.
Provide a high level of front-line customer service and respond to participants' immediate concerns and needs
Act as a bridge between the facility and participants.
Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Requirements
High school diploma and current technical or practical training in dance.
One year of related experience.
Ability to work flexible hours, including daytime, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on program needs.
Proven experience in providing dance instruction within a program setting.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, along with strong customer service and behavior management abilities.
Provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check at your own expense as a condition of employment.
Valid CPR Level C” and Emergency First Aid Certificate.
Demonstrated reliability, positive attitude, and good employment record.
